I've heard the Chicago Spire will be really nice if you can afford to spend at least 800k for a one bedroom condo. If this doesn't work for you perhaps you could give more detail about what your looking for.

Are you looking for city or suburbs. What is your price range? Where will you work? Any other requirements (ie: train, bus, shopping, hospital conveniences?).

You may want to post this at the Chicago/Suburbs page.

It depends upon what you are looking for. Ask in the Chicago forums.

Since you said neighborhood, I'm assuming you want to live in the city, so I'm moving this to the Chicago forum. You'll get more help there.

I heard the Hyde Park neighborhood is really nice, multi-cultural, near the Univ of Chicago and relatively safe. I also reside in St.Louis and will be re-locating to Chi-town in 4-5 years.
