Default Warm city with a similar vibe to Chicago?

Hi,

Do you know of any cities in the US that are warm all year round and have similar nightlife, atmosphere, vibe, friendly people, etc like Chicago? Thanks!

x2 but with extra liberal atmosphere and overly eccentric people.

For example, plastic bags are banned in grocery stores.

No...SF isn't really warm like San Diego or even nearby Palo Alto. However, it does not get COLD like here. Also, the homeless rate in SF is disturbing to me as is the price of homes there.

Honestly, I can't really think of another place like Chicago. Perhaps another rust belt city farther south?

Sure. It's nice. But it's nothing like Chicago. If all you're looking for is a nice city where it's warm, we can suggest away, but I can't think of a warm place with a legitimate Chicago feel or I might be there now (along with tons of others from this board...)

Miami and Miamians are not in any way, shape or form like Chicago or Chicagoans.
