The scale of support Obama received in Illinois is just astounding. I live in a very Republican county, and he even won here by double digits. Check out this link for county by county returns:

Very interesting to see the normally Republican and affluent Lake, Dupage, and Will counties go heavily for Obama.

Obama is a fake Chicagoan. Want tit for tat? You go it.

What makes Bush a fake cowboy and Obama a Chicago urban warrior?

They both were transplants. BTW-Bush spent a hell of a lot more time in Texas after his family moved there than Obama has in Chicago. Touche.

Bush grew up in Texas although he was not born there. Obama did not move to Chicago until he was an adult.

Like I have said many times before-take out the Chicago area from Illinois and the state will go red every election.

Ah, you're right. I was confusing that with the fact that every county but two voted for Dick Durtbag.

Not the least bit convincing.

What is that supposed to mean? It is the truth. Ignorance is bliss is it not?

It's an amazing story really.

Also AMAZING is how Obama was clobbered on the southside by Bobby Rush in an election for the US House, and Obama only became a IL Senator because Democrat poll leader Blair Hull was busted in a "sex scandal" in the primary, and Jack Ryan in another "sex scandal" in the general election.

It's an amazing story really, all of that considered.
I wouldn't attribute his general election success to a "sex scandal" so much as the complete and utter collapse of the Illinois Republican Party. Remember, the Jack Ryan "sex scandal" was that he wanted to have sex with -- get this -- his own wife. (I don't know many guys who wouldn't like to get it on with his ex-wife, but that's another story.) The "sex scandal" was whipped up to drum him off the ballot in the midst of a power struggle within the state Republican party, with the temporary winners of that power struggle replacing him with Alan "Evil Clown" Keyes. The Jack Ryan scandal-mongering wasn't even the Democratic Party's doing, that's the funny thing.
