Face it, there's no arguing with this guy. He simply doesn't want anyone who's not white to become President. Taking his argument to its logical conclusion, he probably doesn't want non-whites to hold any position of power in America. Maybe he'd even agree that non-whites should not be allowed to vote.

Oh well, that's his problem. I am sure there are many that feel that way he does. The good thing about him is his only "platform" is CD. IRL noone would probably give a darn about what he thinks. Especially when most Americans are looking for progress.

I'll look forward to the first Black President running the show and making history while in office. Like anything else, when blacks get a FAIR opportunity to compete, we usually excel! Our history speaks for itself. That alone causes "others" to become insecure.

Heck, a lot of blacks (though not most) have excelled even when they were put down, spit on, and intimidated. The biographies of great black Americans like Percy Julian or Thurgood Marshall don't exactly describe a background where these guys were given much of a chance at all, yet they succeeded because they were brilliant and hard working people.

...as are most New Englanders; even NH gave Obama the thumbs-up, and exported a Senator linked expertly to the Bush regime (Sununu) by a considerable margin...

However, the nationwide popular vote was relatively close. Even with a notoriously unpopular President, an unpopular war and a horrible economy, the GOP still got 46% of the popular vote. That alone makes you step back and think a little...

I don't think of Obama as a "messiah", and I don't think he is the greatest thing since sliced bread; BUT he's just what the country needed at this point in time; changing from Bush to "pseudoBush" wasn't going to be enough.

Lastly, I'm eternally grateful that I don't have Sarah Palin to look at during every Presidential address for the next 4 years.

Redirecting the thread away from crazy racist rants, what I'm looking for in the Obama administration for Chicago, echoing what others have stated, is a more rational approach to transportation policy, a redirection of the "war on drugs", and perhaps a greater emphasis on education.

1. Regarding transportation, the Obama administration can change the guidelines that bias Federal funding towards roads and highways so there is more equitable funding for mass transit programs.

2. Regarding the so-called war on drugs, as a fan of HBO's "The Wire", Obama knows that the current policies not only don't work, but are counterproductive. I know most law enforcement is carried out on the local and state level, but he can use the power of persuasion as well as some big Federal "levers" to nudge policy in the right direction.

3. Regarding education, again this is primarily an issue of local control. Perhaps the strongest effect that Obama can have is to demonstrate to inner city youth that it is possible to make it in America by working and studying hard and avoiding crime.

These are big tasks, so I'd be happy to make progress in 2 out of 3.

Getting the Olympics in 2016 in Chicago would be gravy.

Ditto! I grew up on the southside during the 1960's where I attended grade school and then high school in the early '70's. I watched in horror as I child the news from the deep south of innocent Blacks being mowed down with fire hoses while hearing the adults around me cheer the behavior of bigots. The amount of hate that was displayed by the whilte adults around me when integration began was despicable! They couldn't flee fast enough to the suburbs. Fear really fuels hate, doesn't it? I'm sure many of them now long gone are rolling in the graves that an African American will be President. Things have moved quicker than I imagined they would in the last 40 years. Thank goodness this barrier has now been broken. I know Obama will win over even those whose hated still blinds them in the years to come. He's the real deal......
