You can't get there via the El and a Pace / Metra combination is probably possible but would suck. However, if you get a car and live somewhere in the city with relatively easy access to I-290 (i.e. West Loop, Wicker Park, Ukranian Village, Loop) then the commute could be borderline tolerable.

Ugh. That would be vicious. We'll be hearing about "Downtown" on CLTV's "breaking news" in about a year if he tries this. Try Oak Park, Berwyn or Forest Park. That will place you roughly equal distance (timewise) between Oak Brook and the Loop.

And most importantly, past much of the traffic bottleneck on the expressway.

So, I know Oak Park has oak trees and parks, but does Oak Brook have brooks? And do those brooks go downtown and to Lakeview? And is Forest Park a mirror image of Park Forest is some strange parallel universe?
