Cross Town Classic Ticket Prices
I have a friend that will be coming and visiting this coming up summer and he wants to go to a Cross Town Classic game(s). He is a big Cubs fan, has been from when we were kids, and the same for me, BUT, I am a SOX fan. He wants to go to the June 16th. 17th., and 18ths' games at Wrigley. When do tickets go on sale and how much do you think this would run us for tickets? It will be just him and myself at the game. I would like to have this planned out because I told him they will go quick and I want to make sure we atleast get 2 tickets for me and him. He wants to go to all three and I told him if we can get them then we will go. What do you guys think?

Unless you have really really crappy seats (which might be be able to get $50-$75) expect to pay at least $100 a ticket for a half-way decent seat. Expect to pay around $125 and up for each bleacher ticket. These prices represent the figures you would get if you buy them from a scalper, broker, or a nice private citizen looking to make some extra dough.
As far as when tickets go on sale and ticket prices for this coming year that info has not be announced yet. Usually tickets go on sale the last Friday of February though. Last year they went on sale on Friday, 2/22/2008...
In addition, the Cubs usually announce to season ticket holders sometime around NOW in November if prices are going up for the coming season. More often than not when season tickets go up-single tickets prices do as well.
Below you will find a link for face value prices from last year. Expect them to be 10%-20% higher for this coming year.

I'm estimating that for a super high-profile game like the crosstown, take Avenger's figures and double them, especially for games at Wrigley. You may only need to increase them by 60% for games at The Joan.

You are right as well. The prices I listed are the extreme low end for the Cubs-Sox games at Wrigley.

I was expecting them to be expensive because Wrigley is much more expensive than Comiskey. I went to a few by myself and paid $25.00 for Upper 400s and LOVED the seats. Most people thought it was too high but I could see the f***king game at a great view. I was just wanting a rough figure here, not an exact.

Yeah, it's cool. I was just looking for a ballpark figure here.

I buy and sell baseball tickets every year, primarily to help offset the huge costs that I incur on the many games I actually go to. Cubs-Sox tickets are the hottest tickets in town. For bleachers, expect to pay 100-150 depending on how close to the date you buy them. Although, it might be lower this year since the series is mid-week (WTF) and with the economy and all.
To attend all three games, your best bet is to buy 6 for one game (the max) and then trade for tickets to the other games.

Tickets go on sale Friday Feb. 20th 2009.
So much for "freezing ticket prices."
