I miss Chicago, too. Born & raised there, left when I was very young to move south...lots of issues, but, the cold & snow were a big part of it.
Many years later, the other issues are gone, but, now I am REALLY used to the milder winters and cannot even conceive of a Chicago winter again.
But, as some other threads have so eloquently said, Chicagoans are unique. Our habits, our accents, our thought processess are different from anywhere else. I have spent decades trying to fit in somewhere and I simply cannot. I am a Chicagoan.
So, my friends here are either transplanted Chicagoans or north easterners. I would like to become a snowbird someday just to fit somewhere for a little while.
