Good Chinese Delivery
I've been living in Chicago for over a year now and been having a hard time finding a good Chinese delivery restaurant in the Lakeview/Buena Park area. Any suggestions? Ping Pong is good but I'm talking about the comfort, cheaper Chinese food that is perfect when you're hungover. Thanks!

I have the same problem with Chinese delivery in Wicker Park. Americanized Chinese food in Chicago really sucks. Unless you go to Albany Park.

try grubhub.com. I used them for the 1st time the other day and it worked pretty well. Type in your address and it shows who delivers and has quite a bit of reviews for most places. I had some of the best thai food Ive ever had

My kids in Bucktown use Papajin - 1551 N. Milwaukee Ave. - 773-384-9600.
ANd my daughter is Lakeview loves Friendship, in Logan Square - 2830 N. Milwaukee Ave. - 773-227-0970.
They grew up eating in Chinatown and love these two restaurants.

Silver Seafood, Uptown. It's the best north of China Town.

Oh man. You know, the big foodie message board in town frequented by more than a few top chefs and food critics is named after a truly fantastic hole-in-the-wall Chinese place in China Town (Little Three Happiness is the "LTH" in "LTH Forum"). I'll agree that Lake View and Lincoln Park have pretty terrible Chinese Food (along with most other gentrified neighborhoods), but there is really incredible Chinese food to be had in this town if you know where to look. For some reason Chicago is more of a Thai food town in terms of mediocre-quality delivery food, though.
By the way, if you want food advice, LTHforum.com is a great resource. I don't post there (so don't look for me), but my foodie wife does occasionally.

Never been to Zen but yeah Papajin was terrible. I gave WP Chinese restaurants one last chance and ordered takeout from Eat First by Oberweiss on Mil & Ashland. It was beyond terrible. I've boycotted Chinese restaurants in the area.
The Chinatown restaurants are pretty good but fair on the authentic side. Harder to find Mongolian Beef if you know what I mean. Dim sum is great at Phoenix but kinda pricey. And Joy Yee's has the best fresh fruit smoothies w/ tapioca. Lao Sze Chuan is quite tasty as well. Every dish is spicy!

Regarding what you mentioned about Thai food I agree with you. Probably the best ethnic restaurant in WP is a Thai restaurant called Pot Pan. It's not the best Thai food you'll ever have but its pretty close.
