Oh honey, you're in Houston. Let's not open that can.
The whole "Chicago accent" thing is confusing to me. I've run into maybe a handful of people who have that "Saturday Night Live" accent going on, but other than that? Most people tend to speak in a very flat sense.
The nasally thing I don't hear either. You're really grasping for straws if your only comment is that it sounds "nasally".
Well perhaps I should meet more people from Wisconsin because my friend who was born and still lives in Wisconsin is very nasally and so is his entire family.
I lived briefly in Chicago once for under a yr and I dont recall hearing heavy accents. Different but really an accent per say than again different to me is someone who doesnt have a southern twang. lol
Nobody I ever met from Milwaukee has the wisconsin accent. I first noticed it when I went to a packer game and from that point on I was a bear fan. Even in Milwaukee the southside and the working class suburbs in Milwaukee(cudahy, south milwaukee, st.francis) seem to have a an accent. I have had numerous northsiders in Milwaukee tell me their is a southside accent. Must be a southside thing in both cities.
A lot of white south siders have the Wisconsin accent in Milwaukee... As do many people from places like West Allis, or distant converted cornfield suburbs like Hartford.

Yeah, but if you can't hear a Texas accent I don't think you're a good judge. Texas has one of the heaviest accents in the country. You must think everyone on TV has an accent, including the national newscasters! If you think Brian Williams and Charlie Gibson have accents, it's not them--it's you.
