Beer Fridge or food fridge?
Thanks to Costco I have enough non-perishables to get me through until March: Pasta, soup, chicken stock, diced tomatoes, rice, etc.. I also have a lot of frozen meat and seafood. Beer fridge is primarily stocked with Spaten Optimator, Trois Pistoles, and Celebrator for this type of weather. Can always fall back on the wine cellar in an emergency.

Nothing. I'll just eat some walnuts and i like my beer room temperature...just like the euros. it goes down faster, smoother, and the flavor has more pop.

Eh, it's not like we're trapped. I usually have a week's worth of extra, simple food on hand anyway because I'm a good shopper. If something big were to happen and we were snowed in for a few days, we'd be fine on spaghetti, oatmeal and soup. I always have plenty of frozen chicken and veggies to whip up a big pot of soup whenever.

Let's hit JustJulia's house.
It occurred to me a few years ago just how switched around my priorities were. Huge snowstorm, and all I had in the fridge was vodka, vodka and more vodka.
The only thing in the cupboards? Crackers and olives.

While having a kid certainly did kill the awesome foodie restaurant lifestyle my wife and I were living, we still have a fridge that couldn't support human life for more than a day or so.

The name is actually the surname of one of the main characters from the novel, The Scar. I'm not really fond of wine.

This isnt a remote village in Northern Alaska, people. The longest you'll have to wait (if you feel so inclined) is maybe a day before the roads are good enough to travel on. I just make-do with what we have laying around. Last night I had a Tombstone supreme pizza and an ice cold Sam Adams Cherry Wheat and watched the snow fall. I found no reason to rush out whatsoever in anticipation of being "snowbound" because, well, that just doesnt happen around here. And guess what? Im off to the grocery store tonight because the roads are just fine already. I also wouldnt rush out and stock the fridge in case of a rare power outage. The more food in the fridge you have during a power outage, is just more food/money youll have to throw away. We lost power last year overnight (accident took out power), most food was junk. The freezer leaked all over the floor, too. UGH
