Because I speculated that a shooting outside a club happened at a club that was spinning hip hop? I think your phony "outrage" is pretty ridiculous considering that we live in Chicago, IL. I personally listen to hip hop occasionally, and do not believe this music turns people into criminals. And I did not imply that, regardless of what other posters have said. It is a very mainstream form of music with a populartity transcends race and class. But it is also the music of choice for most of the violent thugs that roam the streets of Chicago in 2009. Violent spillover isn't usually a problem at indie rock shows, House DJ events, the CSO, or the Lyric Opera because they appeal to a more elitist, educated audience. Hip hop shares some of this audience as well, but isn't as exclusionary by nature.

You shouldn't have to defend yourself. I read your posts and to me you are a thoughtful, articulate, sane urban liberal. It doesn't matter where you are. Hip hop and rap clubs attract a disproportionate amount of violent riff raff. I could say a lot more, but the PC thought police would soon be hot on my trail. Even my extensive jazz and blues collection, and letters of reference from various peoples of minority pursuasions would not be able to save me.
