Although nobody seems certain of the when, how or why, it appears as though Burris will get his day in the senate (besides, the dems really want that extra vote).
Maybe Burris will use diving rods to determine where to place his empty desk.
What really annoys me is his fellow hacks heaping praise and glorifying him as some great "public servant".
And then there is Burris himself acting as though he earned it. Give me a break.
Besides being another mouth breathing lawyer turned career politician, what did he accomplish? Oh thats right, there is that monument to himself he designed.

In 1993, Burris, an advocate for a national handgun ban, helped to organize Chicago's first Gun Turn-in Day. The following year, Burris admitted that he kept a handgun in his home and had not turned it into police as he had urged others to do. A spokesman stated that Burris had "forgotten about" the handgun.

Well, Blago screwed the Dems for the seat in 2010 if Burris runs. Burris is just an 'effin hack.

If Burris decides to run in 2010, he'll face a well funded primary opponent, and he'll lose.

I have a feeling that the volunteer network that the Obama campaign mobilized to send thousands of volunteers into Michigan and Indiana could be effective here. He's not going to want to see his old seat lost, especially considering his popularity in the state.

That is true, but voters can be fickle, and could want a change. Of course, the last Republican senator we had, Fitzgerald, did a whole lot of nothing for the state.

He appointed Patrick Fitzgerald as U.S. Attorney for The United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. That one action did more for the state than Dick Turbin and Obama combined.

Well, I guess he did one half way decent thing with that. It sunk Ryan, and it's about to sink Blago. Besides that, did he do anything else but fight with his own party, and sit on his thumbs for 6 years?
