I think it's more difficult to find country line dancing in the northern USA, especially a huge northern city like Chicago.

My vote would go for Carol's, as well, but only if the European relatives are openminded about sitting in a dump (don't get me wrong, I dig it, but it's a dump).

I wouldnt bring out of towners to Carols, but thats just me...its a crappy dive bar that plays country music on the jukebox.
I hate to break it to you, but its Chicago. You're really not going to find traditional southern-esque stuff here. my only suggestion would be to check out Fitzgeralds (in Berwyn), which specializes in American roots music..you may find something along those lines there

There used to be more places in the city to do country line dancing. As gentrification has marched on they have started to disappear.

This place does not have a lot of space for line dancing, but people have been known to dance on the weekends and they have a country band play every Friday and Saturday night. This is a country bar/dive that still survives in "Wrigleyville." Don't let the name of the bar fool you.
