Yeah it's like right off the interstate. Why would you not live there? It looked really nice. Newer buildings, no trash at all, no sketchy people, etc.
This website says that that zip code is predominately full of 25-29 year olds. It can't be too bad if that's the case.

What website says that? Citi Data? What is the zipcode? You must understand zip codes can include more than one neighborhood. It is not like each zip code is a different neighborhood.
Well if it is full of gang banging 25-29 year olds it can be VERY bad.

Yes, city data.
Again, didn't see a single sketchy person in sight. I'm not trying to argue with you, just trying to get a local's perspective on the area. So again, why would you not live there?

I don't know that I wouldn't live around there, but it would only be if there was a great deal and if I bought a car. You won't be getting any of the neighborhood amenities you'd get in actual "West Lakeview".

Gangs. Crime. Proximity to a large housing project. Noise and traffic from the expressway.
Again is the zip code 60618 or 60647? If it is 60618 where this address is located that explains a lot. Roscoe Village and parts of Lakeview,North Center,Ravenswood, and Irving Park, etc. carry the 60618 zip code so the numbers by zip code get thrown off. The part of 60618 that you are talking about is part of the worst part of 60618.

Geez. And here I thought I was going to read a thread about the pros and cons of West Lakeview vs., say, East Lakeview.
As in:
East Lakeview: More densely-populated, more large apartment buildings, more singles-oriented
West Lakeview: Less dense, more single-family homes, more family-oriented, quieter, less congested, but still in good proximity to all the fun stuff (entertainment, nightlife, restaurants, etc.) Lakeview has to offer
But I guess we're not talking about that, since the OP was obviously confused about the location (s)he was questioning.
So I'll throw out this little question of my own:
Tonight I was out visiting... I was around Belmont and Damen but a couple blocks west and a couple blocks south of there. What is this part of town called?
I think the neighborhood there is considered Hamlin Park, or thereabouts, but I'm not sure what official "Community Area" it's in. I think it's too far west to be considered "Lakeview". Is it North Center, or is it too far south for that? Exactly where was I?

Well a couple of blocks means 2-4 for some people or 6 for others. Assuming you were north of Diversey and east of Clybourn you were in the Hamlin Park "sub-neighborhood" or neighborhood association if you will, which is in part of the neighborhood of Lakeview. That part of the neighborhood of Lakeview is in the North Center community area.
The city has Hamlin Park under the North Center community area and in the Lakeview neighborhood. Thus your answer is: you were in Hamlin Park (a sub-neighborhood of Lakeview), but in the North Center community area.
Hamlin Park would suffice.
Make any sense?

The Logan Square or Belmont stop on the Blue line would be the closest stops. I do not know exactly how close because I do not know where this place is you are looking at. Each are about 4-8 blocks from 90/94 and Diversey.
