You're right, of course I should have known that the highest birth rates just happen to be in Africa! This should of been common sense. But when you take away 3rd world countries or the countries with the most problems, the Latin American ones start popping up like Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.

One can not deny that roughly 75% of the world's ULTRA poor are in Africa. Seriously...come on!

3rd world is a made up term from the cold war so there's no "official" list of what is and what is not a 3rd world country.

The other thing I would note is that obviously the vast majority of illegal immigrants coming into our country are neither from El Salvador or Guatemala -- they're from Mexico.

Whose birth rate is still far higher than America's. besides, mexico is just the point of enterance. If illegals could cross into America by going through El Salvador, they would! but Mexico has that fine distinction.

Well, I'll admit I could easily be wrong. But recently I (finally) did something I always wanted to -- drove from Chicago to Panama. Those two countries are a complete mess. Have been to Kenya and frankly it looks much better. Overall though I can't really make the claim that I did, haven't seen enough of Africa. Don't underestimate though how screwed up parts of central america are.

I would say that no, you are right. they're no America but Africa is where the poorest of the poor are and it's been this way for thousands of years.
