Nah, how about you go on a hike with me Saturday? I know it will be warmed up by then, but Ive got the Carhartt one-piece snow suit, boots, gloves and baclava ready for this weekend for a nice, long hike if all goes well.
And was anyone else disappointed by tonights storm? What happened??? We got snow for about 2 hours, maybe an inch total accumulation, then its been dead for over 2 hours now, with a light mist coming down here in Warrenville. Dammit, I want my "blizzard", havent seen one in a long time and this is what we get?!?!?! W-E-A-K!!!!
Well, I guess all I have to look forward to is the massive cold front this week. I swear, that better not disappoint like tonights storm.

Cmon now, play nice.
I think those types of temps are more refreshing than ANYTHING on earth. I love the sensation (as long as its not more than a day or two) those temps give off, its really quite interesting. On those nights, I dont feel like Im in Chicagoland anymore. Im the one who dons the warm clothes, and takes a little hike, especially out in the fields where the winds can whip around me. I get to see all these people hiking glaciers in Alaska, scaling Mount Everest, etc, while I sit inside watching them on TV. But when Im out there at night and the moon is reflecting off the crunchy snow, and the winds are so sharp that they feel like little knives, I can feel like Im somewhere else for a day or two. Crazy? Maybe to you guys. But to me? Its an adventure.
Dont laugh now.

The REAL storm is supposed to come after midnight.
Look at what is coming in from the Plains.

Wednesday's snow is supposed to be upwards of 6 inches according to Tom Skilling. Of course by tomorrow, it'll be downgraded to 1-3 inches....

DAMN! I'm going to be in California and am going to miss it. Hopefully it will stay cold and we'll get more snow next week.

Where are all of you when the newscrews are interviewing?
Where are all the Steve-Os when Julian Cruz, Roseanne Taiz (I know I spelled her name wrong), and Juan Carlos Fanjuls are out interviewing people on the street? I never hear anyone say, "wow I can't wait to get another foot of snow.... I love it!" or "too bad I'm going to Florida for a week and am going to miss the blizzard" No, all that is ever said is, "blaahhh I wish it would go away, bring back the warm weather" ... "Im moving thank God"
I think all the Steve Os out there need to find out where the news crews are going to be and when, so they can get the mic in the face instead of the usual folks sitting in their car or pumping gas into their tank that I usually see during those interviews. Might throw a whole new prospective into the thoughts associated with snowstorms.
