Well, "down south", the consensus is that if you are not born there, you are not, nor ever will be a "true southerner" no matter how long you live there.

Using that "formula" if you will, a true Chicagoan is one that is born IN the city (not the suburbs). Just my opinion....

I don't think the same formula applies. It's kind of true for the south, or at least I've never met anyone not born in the south (or living there at a very early age) that ever fully adopted the "true southerner" culture, even if they've adopted the south. In Chicago, there aren't quite so many rules - basically just show up and don't screw with anyone.

After the real estate tax check I just wrote <<<CRINGE>>> I will say that anyone that has to do that is in chicago. Or anyone that pays the correspondingly high rents.
