I assume you are asking this since Lincoln Park is a "nicer" section of Chicago, almost like a suburb... Well if you take out all of the "nicer" neighborhoods in Chicago there wouldnt be much left to Chicago.
The definition... Anything within the city limits.

Technically anything in Chicago is Chicago.

What you consider Chicago is usually where you grew up in.

Atleast for me.

So if you live in a nice neighborhood you are somehow less 'authentic' of a resident than if you do not? That is absurd.

There are an awful lot of different "real Chicagos". The majority of Chicagoans don't live in Lincoln Park, doesn't mean it's not really Chicago.

Lincoln Park is as real as Portage Park. But it is a different slice of the city.

Most LP residents are not real 'chicagoans' because 70% of them came here from Iowa, Ohio, Wisconsin, or someplace like that. But it is definitely real Chicago, yes.

Is there a moment when you magically become a "real Chicagoan" or if you weren't born here you aren't a Chicagoan ever. What if you've lived in Chicago for 30 + years ... still not a Chicagoan?
