Play area for kids????????????
I just moved to Chicago from Arizona. brrrrrrrrr!!!!! don't ask me how I feel abt the weather here...
Anyway, I was wondering if there is a source (a website or something) from which I could find a list of places incl malls with play areas for kids... where I could take my 1 yr old son to during this WONDERFUL winter.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Chicagoparent.com and oakleesguide.com are good resources. There is also a website called kidwinks.com that I've heard mentioned before.

I don't think there are really any malls in the city with indoor entertainment.
The Park District has several tot programs & play groups that you can join for pretty cheap. You can find their classes on their website. Or buy an annual pass to the Notebaert Nature Museum or Children's Museum and go as often as you want. The conservatories are awesome in the winter too and they are both free. The zoos have some indoor places to play as well. Lincoln Park Zoo is always free and the Brookfield has several free days this time of year.

Northside Parent's Network is the best resource for this kind of thing http://www.npnparents.org/index.asp. They have a message board, but you need to be a member to use it ($40/year). I'd check on there for you, but we just let our membership run out. I know lots of people with babies and toddlers, and I think most of them are just haning out in their houses until it gets warmer!
