In Austin, we had a great chain of movie theaters that served food and drinks. It was awesome, you could get a good burger, a couple beers, and a movie ticket for like $20. Does anyone know if there is anything like that here in Chicago? I want to get out and see a movie, but I've been spoiled and I'm not sure I could go to a regular theater again.

Muvico in Rosemont has something like that as the Yorktown Cinema in Lombard.

And then there is Brew & View -- Brew & View at the Vic - Home Page

The theater in downtown Evanston has a full bar (can't take the bar drinks into the theater though) and a bistro-type restaurant. You won't get a meal and a ticket for $20 though.

Wasn't there supposed to be some luxury movie theater with food/drink in the Block 37 development? Anyone know if that is that still going to happen?

Ive been to this place and its pretty cool, you eat and drink while watching a movie just like at home. You will spend a good 40 bucks though

There's nothing like the Alamo Drafthouse in Chicago, unfortunately. And riding 30-45 minutes out of Chicago to get something sort of similar is ridiculous. It's insane to me--it seems like something similar would be incredibly successful here, but maybe it's because all of the chains dominate everything...

Well, its a little low class, they play second run movies (which they choose for you), but you can try the Vic Theatre in Lincoln Park for brew and view. Its a good time, get tipsy, and its only $5 bucks to get in.
