The closest I would go to are :

Giordano's
223 W Jackson Blvd, Chicago, IL‎ - (312) 583-9400‎
or the location at:
236 S Wabash Ave, Chicago, IL‎ - (312) 939-4646‎

Exchequer

Almost right across the street from the Art Institute is the Chicago Architecture Foundation. If you go to their website, you can see what walking tours they offer the day of your visit. Their docents are excellent.

I used to like taking the Jackson-Englewood CTA train south to 63rd street around 12 midnight, and strolling around. Gets your blood going.

The Giordano's on Wabash is still open? I'm pretty sure that one's been closed a little while now, but I could be mistaken.

I do not know. I have not been by there in some time. Apparently you are right. I called and asked the address-they gave me the Jackson address.
