Kenosha News | Many see KRM as key to region
It looks like the only way it gets done now is with the stimulus package, So wait and see.

I think it's only a matter of time before Southwestern Michigan becomes part of the metro too.
|
Oh please don't say that! I live in SW Michigan and love it the way it is (well Benton Harbor could get better ) It was always nice crossing into Michigan from Chicago because you knew, beyond any doubt, that you were behind the city. (Much as I like Chicago, it's still a sprawling mass) And the orchards and woods around St. Joe are beautiful. I wouldn't want to see it polluted by subdivisions, pollution and traffic.

I already considered it connected since both metro areas touch, all that is left is for Kenosha and Racine to fill in the gaps which if you have been on I94 to Milw you would see how developed it is already.

First Milwaukee and Chicago will meet so it will be after that. LaPorte County and St. Joseph County need to be engulfed before Berrien County is part of it. I don't know how close this is to happening currently, but I think it is probable that by 2050 it will have happened.
I like the area a lot too. My favorite city outside of Illinois is South Haven.

True in a way, it would be a different company not metra. They are proposed to use the up tracks already but die to high freight traffic and the Milwaukee to Chicago train already making 9 round trips THe krm line would now have to build it's own tracks. So unless the stimuli package includes that kiss it good bye. We'll see though.

are there any pics of how this train would look. i saw the map so this train would connect to the metra(?) then in kenosha(which is limited) if anything i think the train should go further north than downtown mlw
i still confused a little bit because i saw something proposed about chicago, maybe this company can go elevated style
we'll see though
