Will Chicago ever meet up with milwaukee??
Hey does anyone think that the chicago area will eventually sprawl and meet up with milwaukee and madison? if so how long do you guys think that it will take?(Some people already consider Racine a chicago area suburb and The north shore of milwaukee is only an hour and a half to 2 hours away from chicago) Will we end up being like New york and la because they both have megapolitan areas with san diego and new haven?

I think it would be a good strategy for Milwaukee to help them avoid economic oblivion. When I lived there I was constantly trying to convince the powers that be to create stronger physical and economic ties with Chicago.

I think it will happen in the not too distant future. San Diego and Los Angeles aren't connected though.

Yes, it will.
It's inevitable.

I think a shorter timeframe than that.
But yea, its inevitable, unless our growth strategies drastically change.

We need midwestern cities to start working together on planning and economic issues for the betterment of the region, but current leadership seems oblivious to this.

Isn't there only a 2-3 mile break between north of Zion and Kenosha, a 4 mile break between the sprawl of Kenosha and Racine, and a 4 mile break between the sprawl of Milwaukee and Racine?
It's basically filled in as it is except for a few select, small, areas.

I think the sooner not later. If you look at I94 now that Ill has expanded the Tri State to 4 lanes and now Milwaukee is running 4 lanes each way down to Ill border. Traffic is always present on the 94 corridor and with Racine and Kenosha expanding and all the business popping up along I94, it's only a matter of time.
