I'm a musician, and I'll be traveling to my last grad school audition at Yale. I'll be flying out of O'Hare early thursday morning, and returning (after visiting friends and relaxing on the east coast) on wednesday evening, the 4th of March. (I'm driving over from Kalamazoo, Mi to Fly out of O'hare, it was too cheap to pass up!) I need a safe place to park my car for 7 days, but really would like to avoid paying an arm and a leg! Are there any places I could park my car for a week (hotels, restaurants, store parking lots etc) without worrying about it being burglarized or stolen? Or at least, parking that doesn't cost me $10/day!

I need to figure it out fast, any suggestions would be helpful!

Rent a car from the Kalamazoo area. Drop it off at O'Hare. Have a car reserved again for when you come back. Drop off at Kalamazoo.

Btw-$10 a day for parking is pretty cheap in Chicago.

You think $10 a day is expensive? Wait until you get to the airport and see the actual parking rates. You're going to readjust your idea of what constitutes "cheap" parking near the airport real quick. I like Avenger's idea of one-way car rentals.

Have you considered just driving there? I can't imagine it would take that much longer than driving all the way to Chicago, alloting yourself time for traffic, getting there early enough to go through security lines, sit on tarmac, fly to Boston or Providence or wherever you're flying, sit on tarmac, disembark, wait for luggage, and then drive (or get driven to) New Haven.
