Responded? Christ, I'm hoping they don't call the Rev Jackson and start some type of march!

Not necessarily. Read up on free speech zones; I know my university had one (although I completely disagree with the concept)
Free speech zone - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In any case, if you are in grade/ high school it is totally within the school's rights to write you up based on their handbook. If not for language, than certainly disruption of class. And if you are in college and acting like a dumbass, well then prof will just drop you from their class. Workplace? They can fire you. Welcome to the real world. You can say whatever you want, no one is stopping you from that. That dosent mean it dosent have consequences.

But calling someone a dumb ass even if he is a dumb ass is a disrespectful way to express how you feel. Schools generally tfrown upon that and thats just the way the cookie crumbles. Most everyone had to go through it and its a good thing . Could you imagine all the crude outbursts by people if they were never discouraged in their youth.
Sorry it happens despite any training received in school.
Have you ever listened to Air America? Those cretons get paid money to do notthing but curse, swear and rudely complain about people they vehemently disagree with.

They have no choice but to wallow around in the gutter. They have yet to derive any logic based rationale for their positions.

Talk radio is a gutter on both sides of the aisle, for the most part. There are a few exceptions on Air America, and a few right-wing exceptions, but for the most part it's overly-emotional choir-preaching.

Costa Rica Chica has a spectacular aura aboutCosta Rica Chica has a spectacular aura aboutCosta Rica Chica has a spectacular aura aboutCosta Rica Chica has a spectacular aura about
No one knows what other behavior was accompanied by this detention. All we have is a kid posting and saying he was punished for saying "Obama is a dumbass." We don't know if he said it after repeated warnings to not interrupt, if he said it in a way that was talking back to the teacher - or any other circumstances. Some people here are so anti-Obama that they immediately assume this kid was an innocent kid expressing his opinion at the appropriate moment in class and was punished because he said something bad about King Obama.

Besides, what does this thread have to do with Chicago? Another thread was locked today for the same reason.
