So far I've learned:
some women like metrosexuals, some women don't.
some women like Latin guys, some women don't.
some guy said he is a "vagina hawk"
Quite the educational morning.

Yeah, I laughed at some of the male fashionistas in Europe. I'm not really attracted to a man who spends too much time thinking about fashion or hair or looking "pretty." Leave that to us girls (I guess I'm sexist that way). Much prefer a strong, handsome, rugged, outdoorsman from the Northwoods or the Outback! In fact, I married the hottest one!

A few weeks ago, Jay Leno I think summed it up best... "A recent study done at UCLA found that women are most attracted to a man that is in shape and toned, works out regularly, is well groomed/shaved, smells nice, and has a flat stomach... Problem for those woman though is that those men also want a man who is in shape and toned, works out regularly, is well groomed/shaved, smells nice, and has a flat stomach." LOL!

Most guys have about as much business wearing Speedos as women do spandex.
Seattle, btw, isn't more stylish. We have two types here: the square toed shoe, untucked dress shirt type, and the "I just picked my clothes out of the hamper" type. Seattle has never gotten over or out of grunge.
I have two interesting stories regarding Chicago men. Both stories center visits to my grandma in Chicago. Once we were sitting in a cafe, Greek owned, and two of the very, good looking waiters were giving me the eye and making frequent trips to our table. Finally my grandma said something to these Greek Gods in Greek, and they got tongue-tied, shrugged away, and I didn't see them the rest of our time there. I asked her what she said to them and she answered "Oh they're pretty to look at, but they're from the old country. They haven't been Americanized yet. They're trouble." I wanted to laugh. I still don't know what she said but she scared them away.
Story 2: During my last visit to Chicago, I was entering the front door of my grandma's apartment building. Standing by the door was your typical New Jersey Vinnie: Black greased hair, button down butterfly collar shirt that was half way opened to expose his hairy chest, gold chains, rings, leather jacket, black jeans, some kind of motorcycle type boots, and a cigarette hanging from his mouth. It took EVERYTHING I had, I tell you, to keep a straight face. As I walked past him, he, of course, said "How YOU doin?" and I wanted to recall some smart, witty comeback ala Marissa Tormei in "My cousin Vinny" but my mind wasn't working too quickly at the time.
Unfortunately, I have too many stories of very nice looking, not so nice smelling men. They take the cologne baths where you can still smell the sweat and BO and then a whiff of Aremis, or some other citrus type colonge. Reminds me of the times in Portugal and Spain.

I like metrosexuals in theory, but when you are late to dinner reservations because he has to shave his chest (true story of a close friend of mine) you do start to appreciate the rough and tumble types.
My SO is a scrub -- his wardrobe consists of two types of pieces: T-shirts from High School his dad bought him while on business trips (his collection of shirts from such incredible tourist destinations like Minnesota and Mobile is without comparison) which he'd happily wear for weeks at a time if I'd let him, and button ups and sweaters I've bought him from Express.
