Thats great it worked for you. Now if the next young lady simply wants to call 911 thats her prerogative. To call her a 'scaredy cat' is pretty idiotic.

I'm not calling the OP or anyone else a "scaredy cat". I'm just saying that we don't have to always depend on someone else for our own safety. If a woman wants to call 911, that's fine, but she's going to have to do something else while waiting for the police (or the conductor) on a moving train.

I think you did the right thing by changing seats. But using the call button is a good idea. Who knows what kind of a psycho the guy was. This kind of thing did seem to happen a lot to my friends and me in the 90's. One time a group of thugs sat behind us on the "L" and harassed us. One of the creeps actually put his finger in my ear. Disgusting!

p.s. Want to add that none of us girls were shrinking violets. I think we told them to get the f*** away from us. That's when I got the finger in the ear and started getting scared. The finger guy was over 6 foot and built like a linebacker. He had his face tattooed and a chain piercing in his cheek (nothing wrong with that but maybe you've seen him?).

Now maybe if I were carrying a concealed weapon (the great equalizer for a woman)....

That's what I meant!! Good for you.

How did it turn out? It's a little different when there is a group of them.

I question that type of response. I agree someone will help out, but for a female to say that the troublemaker is probably gonna get real pissed and NOT leave
FYI- A hoodrat is a derogatory word used to describe women who have slept with multiple men- equivalent to the word **** or harlet. Please Please Please learn how to use your hood words before you use them.

I would hate to run into a 6'4 225 pound hoodrat- that's nasty
