The guy looks like 17,8, said some disgusting words to me.
I just stood up and changed to another seat, then he got off the train at the next stop.
Can I call 911 next time?

that lil weirdo did that to yout his morning? what a fruit loop. i've seen this happen on Metra before and it really irks me. too bad you have to go through the ghetto to get to chicago from the nicer burbs. you can't avoid trash like that, next time it happens just get up and find one of the conductors working for the train and if he is no help, find another one. someone will do their job.

"All CTA trains have a two-way intercom system in
each rail car that allows customers to talk to
the rail operator in an emergency.
When you need help or in case of an emergency,
look for the blue light on the rail car lighting
panel. Push the operator call button to contact
the rail operator."

"If a crime goes unreported:
1. The assailant cannot be caught.
2. Criminals are allowed to operate without
interference."

"Not reporting a crime actually produces more
crime by the same criminals. Whether you are a
victim or a
witness, call the police. Get involved!
Give a Detailed Description.
If you are a crime victim or witness, give as
complete a description as possible, as soon as
possible. Write
it down! You may not remember it when you need
it. Make notes about the offender's height,
weight, sex, age, race, distinguishing marks and
clothing.
Describe any weapon used and note in which hand
it was held. Get witnesses if you can."

CTA Safety and Security

Or call 911. Absolutely.

Call 911 any time something like this happens. Absolutely.

This type of thing used to be a lot more common in the 1990s. There used to be flashers and vagrants masturbating on the trains. You'd also see more three-card monty schemes and such. Many of my female friends who lived in the city at that time would have their crazy "L" stories. Things seem to have calmed down--especially on the North Side. Solicitors and panhandlers are now the biggest issue as far as I can tell.

Wow...I had no idea it was that bad in the 90's...it sounds like something out of a very strange movie taking place in another world. a perverted world, at that.

Why do we women have to be such scaredy cats nervously rummaging in our purses for our phones? How about just say, "Get away from me before I call the police!" in a loud voice while looking the idiot right in the face? Show them that you have balls and are not some shrinking violet. 95% of the time they'll leave you alone (that other 5% is when you need to have your phone in one hand and a sharp object in the other). You'll also alert the other people on the train that there is something wrong. There will usually be at least one Good Samaritan to help out.

Because most women are 5'6 and 125-140 pounds. And then you have some hoodrat that is probably 6'1 - 6'4 and probably weighs 200-225. Basically one punch and a lady could be seriously hurt. I question that type of response. I agree someone will help out, but for a female to say that the troublemaker is probably gonna get real pissed and NOT leave

I speak from experience. As a teenager on public transportation, I learned really quickly that nothing makes those pervs happier than a scared little woman who they can intimidate.
