Oh, I see, the "kenwood area" that you referred to is the part of Kenwood Avenue in Woodlawn. That makes a hell of a lot of sense.

By the way, I live a few blocks from there now.

Unfortunately, when I drove past my old apartment building 5 years ago I found it had been torn down.

When I moved to Beverly I chose to keep my Woodlawn condo and still stay there several days a week.

Yes, I think it certainly does make sense that a Kenwood Avenue address would be located in the Kenwood area. When I got back to Chicago in 2002 after a 25 year absence I found that many neighborhoods had been subdivided with new neighborhood names where none had existed before, or were not commonly used names, apparently due to expediency for real estate sales. So I'm still getting used to the new neighborhood names and their borders. I don't think the Kenwood area existed under its own name in 1977 when I left.

I agree that any concept of its demise because of an influx of section 8 is likely exaggerated.
you think so? you think hyde park/kenwood will remain the same way it is for a long time? or do you see any changes in it being demographics or class
