Hey all,

What is the most efficient way to get to the union station for a 6pm train on Friday from Schaumburg?

I am near the woodfield mall/motorola campus and there is the palatine Metra station that is 10-15 minutes north so I could take a cab to that but it ends up going to Ogillve.

Am I better off leaving my car at a park and ride and taking the blue line down there?

I will be returning sunday and I heard overnight parking is around $12 at most places.

Any ideas? My other alternative is to drive 5 hours to my destination but I would rather take amtrak.

Thanks!

Ogilvie is a really easy walk to Union Station.

Ogilvie and Union Station are only two blocks apart. Provided you have roller-luggage (or not much luggage at all) taking the Metra still sounds like your best option. Instead of taking a cab, any chance you have a friend nearby who can just swing by and pick you up and drop you off at the Metra station? I don't know how reliable cabs are out by that way.

There's also a Metra line that stops in Schaumburg that goes directly into Union Station:

Milwaukee District West Line
