Make sure to post on the St. Louis forum. They could help you figure out where to live.
I'm sure you will get a few "Oh my God, why?" comments from Chicagoans, but I'm glad you've made your decision.
And welcome to the west side of the Mississippi!

Yes, I will be going west of the Mississippi. I always thought I would move more towards the Atlantic but seem to be following the pioneers!!
I will post in the St. Louis section to get their opinions about where to live (rent), where to workout (gyms), restaurants and bars, museums and parks, and all the other things I need to know about living in St. Louis.
Trust me Chicagoans...I will miss it here immensely, but this change will be good and I will keep my place here for the time being (girlfriend doesn't want to move so she will move in) and have it for a couple of weekends a month.
Thanks for the comments!!

I lived in Chicago for 14 years and didn't really have plans to move, but ended up, like you, with a great job offer I couldn't refuse. I now live in San Antonio. I expect that St. Louis will be similar to San Antonio as far as easier day-to-day living and ability to save money, as compared to Chicago. I love and miss Chicago, but the truth is, my standard of living has gone up, I'm enjoying getting to know a new place. Change can be a good thing. Hope you find the same thing! Good luck!

Might wanna ask aragx some questions also. I think she went from St. Louis to Chicago. She could probably help you compare neighborhoods.

Thanks STL!! I have actually been in contact with aragx and she has been super helpful even prior to me making a decision. I will be posting on the St. Louis forum shortly with many more questions.

I have gone to Blu CitySpaces and I must say, it is not all it seems. Parking is behind 7-eleven. There are so many difficult people who hang around the building. I have a friend who lives next to the building and there was recently 3 stabbings across the street and a few months back there was a homeless woman who was raped and murdered. There's a church behind the building, which feeds the homeless. Although the insides are nice but small, if it was situated in a different neighborhood, I would have purchased. I wouldn't be caught dead living there
