After 11 years in Chicago's Bucktown neighborhood (1639 N. Damen Ave.), Embelezar is relocating to Milwaukee's Third Ward.
Owner Suzanne Rafenstein, who describes her shop as "a collection of unique home furnishing from around the world," says she made the move to be closer to her Milwaukee family.
She says the store will open May 1 in the Broadway Central Building at 241 N. Broadway.

What is Embelezar?

And as long as she doesn't open a crappy piano bar in the 3rd ward with bartenders that can't make a dry martini and a dude on a synth with a fake drum beat playing "Walking in Memphis." Milwaukee City, you know what I'm talking about.

Maybe this should be posted in the Milwaukee thread. Who cares about this in Chicago?

This story is like a gnat on one of the world's super-naturally large (like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man) elephant's ball sacks.

Oh man. No. God no. This - this can't be. Embelezar...moving? To Milwaukee?

How many miles must you make a man travel to find a collection of unique home furnishing from around the world? Answer me!

Where am I going to find interestingly shaped pieces to screw into the top of my lamps, that's what I want to know. Or cocktail forks that are pre-industrial but post-Victorian, in an art-nouveau way?

It's like the worst nightmare, come true

I know I'm going to squeeze my silk ornamental pillows just a little bit tighter, from now on.

I believe the place you are talking about is Centanni.

OnMilwaukee.com Bars & Clubs: Centanni piano bar conjures up Rat Packs glory days

Every time I went there is was a good time but I know the martini thing to be true. I just go to SoHo 7 now instead.
