I am addicted to ice!
In the south we have a fast food place called Sonic. They use pellet ice in their drinks. I go almost ever single day and get a giant cup of ice. Believe it or not, this may be one of the things I miss the most while living in Chicago. I know this may seem like a silly question, but I don't care. I love to chomp on ice, and it keeps me from snacking on crappy food. So, the reason why I am posting this is:
Is there any place to get it? Do any restaurants or fast food joints use pellet ice. Some people call it "soft ice". I really would like to know.
Thanx.

There's a Sonic in Aurora, but that doesn't help you very much!

There are actually 5 Sonics in the suburbs now.
But that won't help you, like aragx6 said.

Hmmm. You know, Zaxby's (down South. We don't have those in Chicago) uses that stuff, too. I'm not a huge fan of it, but it seems like there was some place up here that I've been to that uses that stuff. It escapes me at the moment.

You could break into a hospital's maternity ward -- they always have those.

My refrigerator makes crushed ice or ice cubes, automatically, but that doesn't help you.

I saw a bunch of ice outside this winter, but I never got around to harvesting it all and putting it in my freezer.
