Getting tired of the local paper down here cutting pages; for $0.75 it is so little it just doesn't seem worth it. What is the current newstand price for the Sun-Times?

Have you noticed if the Sun-Times is cutting down on the size of the paper lately?

How many pages were in the edition you read today? Don't worry about Sunday...but Mon-Sat would be appreciated.

I read everything online. Don't remember the last time I actually bought an actual newspaper.

I don't really enjoy the news as well when I read it online. I still prefer a good ole newspaper. I have always sided with the Sun Times because I hated how the Tribune was with the different sections and then had to fold it out; such a hassle. But now that the Tribune has changed it's a toss up.

The Sun-Times just announced they're bumping their price from 50 cents to 75. It's been 50 for around 5 years, I guess. 35 before that. The price increase goes into effect tomorrow. Funny you should ask.
Sun-Times newsstand price to rise a quarter :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State (http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/1486998,CST-FIN-price20.article - broken link)

As for content, it seems about the same as it has been for years. I don't usually buy it, but every now and again it makes for a nice train ride.

It was 15 cents in much of the 80's.I think they bumped it to a quarter around 1986 and the 35 around 1992 or so...

Well the reason I asked is because hubby has been very unhappy with the sports section in our local paper. Things they should cover they don't; this is the south, I guess is the way to explain it. He is not internet-savy so online isn't helping him much. I believe when we left Chicago it was 35 cents but if it's been 50 cents since then we are getting royally ripped off here. It may be time for mail delivery of the Sun-Times. We never cared for the Trib either except for Sunday.
