Here is my estimate: $20.

Of course you could slide down Randolph to State and grab the red line. It's about a 15-minute walk.

Why can't you stay on the red line to Chicago? It doesn't terminate at Harrison after 10 PM.

You could be staying at the Congress Hotel, or any of the others off of Grant Park on Michigan Ave................

I was one of those flocking today, along with my three year old daughter. The train makes the most sense.

Don't know if you've gone yet or not, but be warned about the latest antics in the upper deck, a couple have sex in a stall in the men's bathroom. When is the White Sox organization going to get things in control up there???? Just confining the fans to the upper deck and walking away when things get crazy is not only not working anymore, but obviously things have gone from bad to worse. Do they really think it's fair to fans who want to enjoy a day at the ballpark to ignore this out of control behavior?????

Your biggest threat will be drunks after the game, the red line is fine.

really?

the red line is fine anywhere you take it.....don't listen to these people. They have no clue. The train will be fine, there are always young kids riding on it with their parents.

There are two problems that I see with taking the red line with small children.

First, if you are heading to a weeknight game, just getting on the train can be a real PITA. There have been at least twice where I have had to force myself on as the trains are crowded and most people will not move in.

Second, the platform at the 35th-Sox Park is very narrow and gets really crowded.

Personally, this season, I am skipping the red line this year and taking METRA into Oglivie Transportation Center and taking the #8 Halsted bus which is slower but less crazy.

Taking a small child to either Chicago ballpark is a crapshoot with the drunks and those with limited vocabularies who enjoy conjugating the "f-bombs" in front of small children.
