I'll need to go to Richard Daley Center court house (for a jury duty). I'll be traveling from the near west side (Riverside).

What are my parking options (probably will need to park for a day)? near the courthouse?

Also, if I decide to take the blue line (staring at Forest Park) what would be my options? How much does it cost to park for a day at the Blue line (Forest Park Location)?

Thanks,

The Burlington Northern has a stop in Riverside. I hope that is an option for you because parking is going to set you back way more than you make per day as a juror. Union Station to the Daley Center is a nice walk probably 7-8 blocks.

I checked it out. There is a Metra station in Riverside on Bloomingbank Rd.

Metra / BNSF Railway Schedules

If you take that to Union Station, the Daley Center is within walking distance.

Parking in that area will run you 20 bucks easy.

Allow me let you in on a little secret for us Berwyn, Riverside, and Oak Park folks . Take Harlem to the Eisenhower, the Eisenhower to Lower Wacker and then turn right from Lower Wacker onto Garvey Ct. (it's a stop light). Then cross Lake St. right into the entrance of the parking garage next to the Chicago Title building. The Daley Center is right across the street and this garage is never crowded. Then reverse it to get home quickly.

This trip takes me about 15-20 minutes from Harlem and Riverside Drive in Berwyn in clear traffic and about 25 minutes in rush hour. We do it all the time when we're going to hang out downtown. Downside is this parking garage is expensive (probably about $28 for the day) but you can't beat the no-hassle convenience.

Alternatively, just take the Harlem bus to the Lake Street Green Line stop in Oak Park. That will get you right there too. Or, if you don't mind walking, take the Metra from Harlem in Berwyn. You'll have to walk abut 15 minutes from Union Station to the Daley Center but this is by far the cheapest way.

I think this is your best option. The cost to park at the Forest Park station is $3 for 12 hours. The train will cost you $2 each way, so total cost = $7. The train will drop you off literally in front of the Daley Center -- you don't even have to go outside to get from the station to the building entrance.

I was confused by that too...to me near west side is the area just west of Greektown. When OP said Riverside I hoped he was talking about the town.

Its been a few years but when I parked in Riverside, there was usually available metered parking at the station and it was pretty cheap too. Maybe that will be different now with the price of gas where it is.

Only $28 to park all day downtown these days? I used to park at Grant Park for $5 a day. Boy am I glad I moved.

Sorry, compared to Naperville it's near west side. I did not know whether people will recognize where Riverside is.

Thanks to all for your tips.
