No Job Fairs in Chicago for a LONG Time?
Ever since I moved back to Chicago from Houston Feb 11th, 2009, - I noticed there had been no Job Fairs in Chicago ... has this happened for a LONG Time?
What was the last job fair you had been too? When and what did it cover? [Like engineering?]
Back when Y2k and Dot com stuff was hot, there were tons of Job Fairs on IT and Engineering.

Job fairs are too costly these days, the rental of the space is high, staff has to be dedicated to dealing with applicants, job seekers don't want to waste money/time commuting and standing in lines.
Internet is far more cost effective. Times change.

Man. You must have a pretty good paying job already if you can afford a big enough place in Wicker Park to stash 120 skirt suits and 42 swimsuits. Not to mention about 10 bicycles.

I tried getting a job in Houston on 6 months of unemployment but nothing. I did screw up by saying a $34 / hr Woodland job from Medical Center was too far... turns out it wasn't.
I have 9 bmx, 2 mtn, and 7 road bikes - probably $30,000 of bikes!
I live at home in my Parent's house rent free, it's an $850,000 3 story Wicker Park home completely remodeled with high tech energy efficient HVAC. I'm gonna inherit it too! So I'm lucky I never had to buy a house but people think I'm such a mammas boy, freeloader, or sponge... I rent when I live in other cities!

A mamma's boy with 120 skirt suits? I'd tell you why you're having trouble finding work in Chicago, but I'd probably get tossed off this forum.
