Sears Tower used to be headquarters for Sears until they moved to the suburbs. There are many different businesses in the tower now.

What is the attraction; no where else in the city can you get the view you get from the observation deck.

A unique structural system designed by Fazlur Kahn ("bundled tubes") and the clean details of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. And it's ****ing tall. That's about it.

I think the Hancock is a better building all around, however. And you can get a drink there.

Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning is there.
When my boss and I went there for a freight committee meeting, we got all excited about going to a meeting in the Sears Tower, you know, maybe a good view if it got boring?...

But they're on the 8th floor. Nice offices though with sweet old pictures of Chicago everywhere.

Yep. They are on the lower floor. I am addicted to the spinach calzones drenched in sauce.

I keep trying to remind myself to take a picture in front of the "Sears Tower" sign on Wacker befor they change it to Willis.
