Chicago and MN are, by far, the coldest places in the Midwest. But the weather here has been really bad since November and, though finally warming a little, still is in the 50s, even this time of year.

Chicago is much warmer than Minnesota.

I'm not trying to pick on Drover believe it or not, but today you will get to watch the power of the lake at work and I want to add that the water is warmer now than it was a month or so ago, duh right? So, the "lake effect is loosing it's punch or bite more like it, but it still has some. Anyhow, watch the spread in temperatures.
NOW! this is NOT to pick a fight, this is to have some fun here and heck even educate some who may not know just how much power and influence the lake has over the Chicago area. For weatherbug users have a little fun with this as it's almost like a little science experiment. I want to use zipcode 60611 WHNT - WeatherBug today which I'm suspecting won't put us too far from Drover's place and heck lets use the Cubby Bear's or Latin School's sensor which Tom Skilling uses on a regular basis, then once you check that periodically, move down to New Lenox WHNT - WeatherBug (A southwestern burb that is only a 75 min drive from the Cubby Bear) and check out the difference.
The difference today won't be as great as it was back a month ago as the lake is loosing it's punch now with the water warming up, but here is New Lenox's zipcode: 60451. To check the differences on weatherbug, go to change location on the top of the weatherbug page and it will pop up a new screen with a listing of usually schools and you can pick which one you want. New Lenox is good as well as nearby Joliet Park District. It may shock you just how different it will be inland vs. along the shore and if you want to try Skokie, it is 60070 and you will get close to Skokie. http://web.live.weatherbug.com/US/2/...557&lid=USCITY
This is just to have a little fun, not to start a fight ok!???
I think you can also play around with this on this site too. Give it a shot. WHNT - WeatherBug

I see 63 in Lakeview and 70 in New Lenox, which would be exactly in line with what everyone has been saying. Shocking.

Okay, now. Let's calm down there for a second, killer. Perhaps you should watch a few youtube videos on how to have a conversation like an adult ( or perhaps you're too big of a giant idiot and a big fat liar, or something, ya big idiot@ssface ).
I went to accuweather, and put in the zip codes for Lakeview and New Lenox, and that's what I got. I'm sorry that upsets you.

Why does it matter which service you use?

With weather.com it tends to pull from a main location. Orland will usually pull from Midway instead of St. Michael School actually in Orland. the weatherbug sensors are usually right on vs. the old way where the weather.com will pull from Ohare or Midway for the burbs.
