Actually, Drover, it is more important for people to go by what they experience than some website. Who gives a crap what the site says? So, if someone goes somewhere and says "It feels cold outside," you're saying they're not allowed to say this, because they need to consult a website first to decide for them whether they're cold or not? That is insane and stupid for you to think this way.

That's funny.
Don't trust them fancy scientists with their verifiable data collected with them highfalootin' thingamaboos and whatsamajiggers. Just go with your gut. To do otherwise would be insane. Check that, insane and stupid.

What's insane and stupid is believing that Chicago is one of the two coldest cities in the Midwest.

Apparently you again can't read or do math because my original comment stated it was 44 in Skokie and upper 60s still in Orland an hour later with sun setting. Thats how much of a difference? I know you can do it. Break out your Texas Instruments if you have to.

If only I were capable of giving jdiddy and Drover rep points. Apparently I do so too often.

Dude, give it up. Chicago is nowhere near the coldest spot in the midwest. Not even close. Go hang out in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan or the boundary waters of Minnesota, and then we can talk.
And your Iowa talk is silly. The lakefront is actually warmer in the winter than areas further inland. If you live in Naperville, then it doesn't help. But for me on the Lakefront my winter temps are often a few degrees--and sometimes up to ten degrees--warmer than in the western suburbs.

Orland Park, as we speak: 66 degrees.

Northerly Island, as ON THE LAKE as you can get, Chicago, as we speak: 63 degrees.

The Lake makes it warmer in the fall and early Winter, and colder in the Spring. It's because the water temperature lags behind the air temperature in terms of how fast it changes. This moderates extremes.

Well, some of you morons obviously don't get my point (but that doesn't surprise me). I never said "scientists have proven that Chicago is the coldest city." I DID, however, say that, from what I FELT and EXPERIENCED, Chicago is ONE of the coldest places in the Midwest. I never felt that cold in Iowa and I don't know why. One way to prove someone's idiocy is how literal they are. You who have responded to me to argue have proven admirably in that department. I know you've never lived other places, but those of us who have are just sharing our experiences of what we felt. Such idiots...

You're making me laugh. Please, reread what I quoted you saying.
In attempting to disagree with Drover's statement that the typical spring/summer lake breeze results in temps 7-10 degrees cooler, you give an example of a typical day where the difference is 10 degrees. You then stated, Mothers Day was no exception to this typical temperature difference of 10 degrees. But somehow I was supposed to get out of that there was a 20 degree difference between Skokie and Orland.
Next time I'll make sure to run your post through babelfish before responding. What language should I be translating from?
