How's the area around Skinner park? (Mark: neighborhood, top schools, top)

How's the area around Skinner park? I heard the schools, Whitney Young and Mark Skinner are near that area. Is it supposed to be good to have these schools in the neighborhood?

Whitney Young is NOT a neighborhood school. I suspect that it is not nearly as hard to get into these days as it once was, both because the really top tier student are now aiming for Northside/ Peyton and other schools have taken the pressure.

Skinner is also a selective admission's school, as are all but a handful of the top schools in CPS:
