I would like to know will my tenants be robbed, raped, stabbed, gunned down or be a victim of random violence while walking to their cars or walking to their apartments?

Are the locals drug addicts, drunks and poverty stricken?

what is the chance that my tenants stay in that area as a professional nurse for a hospital?

I'm 75% convinced that the inclusion of the word "Shore" into the name "South Shore" causes people to overvalue it from afar. Perhaps you should look at Blue Island. It's just like Hawaii!

I don't like Rainbow Park at all, even back when South Shore was supposedly looking up.

Do you mean U of C students? No, not really. Too many shootings and nasty crimes all around that area, and you'd need a car to get to Hyde Park anyhow. There is some motivation to live north of 71st but not that far south. Too many thugs.

I was just watching a news story on TV about a schoolteacher that was found shot dead today in his house in South Shore.

Wow, I've never seen you less than 100% convinced of anything.

With South Shore it is a reasonable assumption -- in most cities the prime real estate is near the attractive geographic features. It's weird that an area with so much potential has remained so blighted for so long. Even Oakland seems to have turned the corner, and it was living hell at its worst.

While you might be right in this case, overall you strike me as one ultra-paranoid dude.
