Default wow!!! very cool

I just wanted to say that as someone who also is coming to Chicago from Houston (by way of his native Cleveland), this list is very cool. It will help me too as I seek the right apartment. Thank you for putting it together!

The Heights=Lincoln Park
Meyerland=West Rogers Park
Sharpstown=Logans Square
Alief=Pilsen
Jefferson Park=Jersey Village
Austin=Fondren Southwest
Little Village=rougher parts of Pasadena.

A little off-topic, but I figured I'd share... I work with 2 ex-Texans (Galveston and Dallas) who moved here. Their first winter was awful for both of them, but by the 2nd they considered themselves full acclimated (their words). Now when they go home to visit family they think TX is hotter than the surface of the sun. lol

Thanks. TexI did a good job of comparing the aesthetics between neighborhoods. Mine was more along the lines of income levels and crime.

It's not the cold, it's the shoveling snow and de-icing the windshield that sucks. But I suppose you'll get used to that too.

Good luck.

I overlooked the part about travelling to Crete, my eyes are too used to capital letters on the front of proper nouns. Anyway, Crete is a south suburb and is too far from Arlington Heights to drive regularly.

I think that's a pretty good list, as a native chicagoan who now lives in Houston. Of course there are exceptions, but it's close.
