Jesee69 would steal a sandwich from a homeless guy and brag about his free meal.

I went this afternoon and thought it was pretty good. Definitely a nice break from the crowds that fill the Lincoln Park and Lakeview festivals.
Not that I don't like those, but it felt more like the real city than transplantsville.

I'd never do this! I've given many $1 to homeless people!
The Fair is still going on 9:15 pm Sunday night!

Give it a couple more years and there will not be much difference anymore.

Yuppies with $600 strollers sound about right to me for that neighborhood...

Yeah, I thought about it for a moment before posting. There is certainly a stark difference between the residents that own versus those that rent in WP/East Village. I don't know how long rent disparities can keep up though now that so many people that bought in the boom need to move on to bigger spaces or better school districts but cannot sell at a profit (or even breaking even). Eventually rents will need to meet mortgage costs you'd think? Not all of the rental options in trendy areas can be from older timers that have owned the buildings for 20+ years, right?

That difference is shrinking. I know many young professionals who rent in those neighborhoods.

Yeah, that is pretty common here now. I've been in the neighborhood for seven years, and it was pretty gentrified when I first moved here compared to my friends who have been living here since the early 90's, but it has really started to take on the 'expensive stroller crowd' in earnest over the past 3 years or so.
Oh well. It's going to take more than a few yuppie moms to chase me out of an apartment I like that is cheap and close to the 'el'.

There was a mix of hipsters and yuppies that's for sure. The people are more laid back generally around here, kind of reminds me of E Lakeview in that regard.
