I get the impression that with many bourgeois not being racist is more a matter of manners than principle. Besides, if you're in a position to be bigoted based on class and income it's more gratifying than being bigoted based on race.

I guess I should be grateful from some as knowledgeable as you right, hey 3000+ posts, "Got Life?". I guess I should act like this on this board When in Rome and all.

Or perhaps we have just progressed as a society? I was in elementary school in the 80s, and we were taught that Martin Luther King Jr. was a hero. Most people of my generation (I'm in my mid-thirties) were raised to believe that racism is wrong, though many learned otherwise from their racist parents--or from just living in a society where racism lingers in popular culture and institutions.

If it helps you out to have company, I'll vouch that there's plenty of racism in NYC (where I live now) and LA (where I grew up). Racism for everyone!

Apparently this forum is one of places where you can display racism. I've read dozens of racists comments from numerous people, some subtle, some not so subtle. I will agree that southsiders tend to be more blatantly racist, whereas northsiders display it more subtly. Sometimes I prefer the outright racists to the polished racist, at least you know where they stand.
