not necessarliy true, and it also can be a health hazard. density is not always good, parking issues etc i seen how some cars be bumper to bumper in chicago when parked on the street at night in many areas

i dont hate density but i also like living in quiet neighborhoods

Actually Phoenix has a history that Chicago could only hope to have. People have been living in what today is Phoenix for nearly 2000 years before Christ
well if you want to go back that far which has nothing to do with nothing lol, various native ethnic groups have been liiving arund the great lakes areas for some time as well.

who cares about the desert areas 2000 years ago?

What's odd is the blue collar southside neighborhoods/areas like Beverly, Hyde Park, Garfield Ridge, McKinley Park are more racially diverse then say Lakeview or Lincoln Park.
Beverly is is not particularly blue-collar any more, and while it looks diverse on paper, it's really only "diverse" in the small transition zone between the black neighborhood to the east and the white neighborhood to the west. Meanwhile, McKinley Park at 80%-plus Hispanic doesn't exactly qualify as "diverse" in most people's book, and Garfield Ridge's "diversity" is a temporary situation as Hispanics move in and whites head for the hills, as has been happening throughout the Southwest side for a couple decades. By 2020, Garfield Ridge will probably look like, well, McKinley Park.

If you have to walk, I hope you enjoy 6 months of 100+ degree temps. I hope you enjoy endless, absolutely identical suburbs with virtually no history, pseudo-adobe homes and strip mall Heaven. I hope you enjoy the "downtown" area, Aurora's is more lively. I hope you like the almost complete lack of public transportation. If you like sports youre screwed: you get the Douchebacks, Cardinals, Coyotes and Suns, complete with the most drab, boring stadiums you can imagine (hey, I guess they gotta match the area, right?). I hope you like uh, only whites and Hispanics, thats about all the variety youll get. No Chinatown, Germantown, Little Warsaw, Greektown, etc, etc. No air show, tall ships, beaches, virtually no nightlife in PHX (Scottsdale and Tempe, thats about it). No charming suburbs with nice downtowns... you get Lowes, Taco Bell, Quiznos, etc, for the most part. What else? You get scorpions, rattlesnakes, black widows, mountain lions, cockroaches, roof rats, and giant centipedes, too! Homes so cheap that you can literally punch right through the exterior walls and comfy gravel yards for the kids to play in. Forget the parks in summer, the kids will fry like an egg. Dust storms, haboobs, flash floods, insane lightning and wind accompany the hot (and humid) monsoon season. Forget endless choices of world cuisine as well. And the topper? I hope you dont have kids, if so theyll be subjected to the absolute worst ranked school system in the nation. Yep, Arizona wrestled the "honors" from Mississippi this year, voted the worst school system in teh 50 states.

I happen to love Arizona, but the cities there are just BLAH. Shame, that. The state would be nice to live in if there was a city that was just a shade more interesting than a monotone documentary about mold.

So please, keep thinking the grass is greener on the other side, most will tell you it isnt.
Well put.
