HCC just made general description of Americans. They are all like that. In every state. I'm Russian, live in Alabama, hoping to move to Chicago. I was kind of thinking that the situation is better in Chicago, because in Alabama I see the same things the HCC described - fat, badly dressed people, too many sport bars, a lot of foolish bad mannered people, etc. May be I should consider New York, then. I mean, everywhere you go you'll run into people like that though. What makes you so sure that New York will be any different?
I also think HCC has a very biased view, he obviously liked NYC more, thus put Chicago down. I get what he was trying to say, but I've been there before and it's NOT like what he described. I felt some things were exaggerated.
