Derrick Rose has a God-given talent. He is making more money then he had ever never dreamed of, yet he is still hanging around certain elements that can be his potential downfall.
Seriously: He had the means and tools to get out of the hood. He should just leave it the heck alone.

Yes, he has talent and skills but his mindset is in the hood, if he can't manage to stay away from that area it's his problem, talent wasted for trash.

Which still has nothing to do with "luck"
Luck is a word people use to justify mediocrity.

The fact of the matter is that the gang protected him and his family living in Englewood. He still owes them that gratitude for that. He probably doesn't bang but he does respect them. You can't just get away from it or just turn it off. It does take discipline true. But discipline doesn't come easy. He'll learn it as he matures. This basically is a non-story and a stupid one at that.
Oh and I agree with the person on the 1st page said. You'd be surprised how many are in gangs in pro sports. Really surprised.

They're now reporting that the situation was someone at the party asked him what his actual score on the SAT was, so he drunkenly held up 4 fingers.
