Rock N Roll McDonalds is Dead... when I go there it's hardly packed like Portillo's across the street... And Portillo's doesn't overinflate their prices just because of their location. McDonald's food is alway the same, so why pay such overinflated prices at the Rock N Roll!? The only better attraction is the coffee / cake bar upstairs, - that's the only thing I eat there!

No more singles hangout here as there is no free parking for a quick meal for a single person unless you buy over $10 of food...

Yeah, I love the Portillo's across the street!

Have you noticed the Rock N Roll stinks [is hardly packed] because of overinflated prices and parking? It gets packed when a school bus stops there...

The older Rock N Roll was more interesting too.

See the parking lot price pic!

I used to work in River North and went there on one of my breaks for the first time....I was like, "can I get a double cheeseburger?"

"2.50."

"I said a double cheese, no fries or anything."

"2.50."

Wut....

I cancelled that and got a takeout from Rainforest Cafe instead.

Ya think the parking sign itself just cheezes off so many people that they don't even bother to read the "one hour " part? Bad communication on so many levels...

BTW the building was intended as a possible "Jetson's Style New Iconic Prototype" for franchisees to model in their communities. Don't think that is working so well either...

Mickey D's McMakeover

This is the model based off their store at the corner of Oak Brook high rise HQ:
new McDonalds design by BoT - Google 3D Warehouse

Franchise operators in the "tourist zones" are practically digging their own grave with "unhip" promotional activities: Welcome to McDonald's Times Square

I don't think I"ve ever actually seen that building in person. Can't see myself ever actually eating there.

That's like declining to buy a Yugo and going for a Daewoo instead.

You still have to buy $10 worth of crap to get your ticket validated.

Doesn't that McDonalds take up a whole city block? I can't imagine the overhead to operate that facility. Can you imagine the taxes on a parcel of land in River North which takes up a whole city block? I suprised the Double Cheese Burger didnt cost 14 bucks.

I think that location is corporate-owned. If so, they can probably afford to operate at a loss just for the marketing value alone.

Jesse, why the non-stop ranting about fast food joints? It's pretty damn weird. Who the f___ cares about the damn Rock-n-Roll McDonalds?

By the way, I used to work near this place and it was always packed over the lunch hour with school tours. The school buses just line up outside. So you must just be going at odd times or something.
