Default Moving to Chicago

Hi everybody, I currently live in Wisconsin, and have been here for the past 8 years. Before that, I spent the earlier part of my life on Chicago's NW side. I would like to move back there possibly this winter, so I'm going to start searching for jobs there as soon as I can get around to it.

I know the city pretty well and if possible, would like to live IN the city, but I wouldn't mind close suburbs if it means paying less money(I'll be renting an apartment).

Any advice?

Default chicago

I am born and raised in chicago , i now live in the elmwood park it is just outside of the city. The rent is expensive just about everywhere. Most 2br apt start out about seven hundred a month unless you live in the ghetto. There are alot of the city that has good area's I am not sure if you have kids you need to watch the schools. I think private is best because there are alot of gangs in the jr high and highschools.

Rivergrove is nice and some parts of franklin park. Norriage is still nice and hardwood heights. All of these suburbs have easy access to the city buy car or bus.

Checkout the Andersonville neighborhood. It's becoming (or has become) - hipster central - but I think it's still pretty affordable.

Thanks.

Buy or rent my house in Jefferson Park. PM me.
Seriously. Walk to public transportation. Safe. Inexpensive compared to any hipster neighborhood you ever heard of.

We have to leave Chicago due to a job transfer.
